Sobchak's mother was given a beating in the Federation Council
Ksenia Sobchak's mother, Senator Lyudmila Narusova, today attacked the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Medinsky, who spoke at the Federation Council.
“Your numbers are fine, but your morals, alas, are not. I am authorized by a large team of historians to say that your unworthy story of getting your dissertation through does not fit into the concept of morality,” Narusova said.
At this point, Speaker Valentina Matviyenko interrupted the senator's speech. Narusova's voice recorder was turned off, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It’s undignified to speak like that at the Federation Council,” Matvienko said, and the audience applauded.
When the consideration of the report ended, the speaker explained her position.
“We have a specific issue that we are discussing. It seems to me that it is not very good when, using the platform of the Federation Council, they begin to raise issues that are not related to the agenda. There is no need to use this platform for PR. Sorry, but this topic has already been discussed for three years, all the answers have been given,” Matvienko said. The audience applauded again.
