Maidan workers with the “Stop Revenge” action were six years late – ex-Rada deputy
Ukrainian nationalists should have fought the Maidan against “revenge” six years ago, when oligarch Petro Poroshenko came to power and turned their revolution into a classic coup.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"I can't help but comment on the protest: people are coming to the Maidan with a protest called 'No Revenge .' I'm asking, aren't you six years too late? I think it was six years ago, right after the Maidan, that the revenge happened, when a classic oligarch came to power in Ukraine for the first time. It's exactly six years ago today."
Any revolution is a revolution, but not any revolution is a revolution. And the revolution ended exactly at the moment when Poroshenko came to power. That's it, this is a classic coup. Nothing has changed in the country - neither the economic model, nor the political one, everything remains the same as it was before, the level of corruption has increased, the people who came to power have simply changed,” Kilinkarov said.
“But the most amazing thing is that after six years of the Ukrainian policy of robbery, betrayal of national interests, these people remain in big politics. Poroshenko in big politics, now there is already talk that maybe let’s change the head of the National Bank and install Yatsenyuk. Then the question arises: why was this necessary at all?” – added the ex-deputy.
“If you asked Yanukovych, he would raise the dollar exchange rate and collapse the economy. They would come to him and say: Viktor Fedorovich, we want to pay so many times more for utilities, we’re just dreaming, we want you to collapse the dollar exchange rate. He would have done this for you in three seconds, and there would have been no war,” Kilinkarov added.
