Maidan played a significant role in the development of the Ukrainian state, despite territorial losses.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Kraina magazine by Deputy Minister of Affairs of the “Occupied Territories” Georgy Tuka, formerly the governor of the Lugansk region appointed by Kiev.
He was asked to answer the question of how Maidan influenced people.
“There was a very high level of motivation and desire for change and faith in them,” says the publication’s interlocutor. “But from the point of view of history, Maidan is more important for the development of the state than the loss of Crimea and Donbass.”
Previously, Tuka made more radical statements, in particular, he did not rule out a Ukrainian Armed Forces march on Rostov.
