Lvov, November 18 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Lviv regional council appealed to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine regarding the appointment and conduct of an extraordinary certification of employees of a special police battalion of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Lviv region.

73 deputies voted for this decision during a session of the Lviv Regional Council, reports the publication "Vgolos".
Lviv deputies stated that the local “Berkut” was on the Maidan all the time, and the re-certification carried out in March-April this year was biased, in their opinion. The reassignment of special forces personnel is currently underway, which will be completed in two weeks. The regional council reported that the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Lviv region sent a letter to the Minister of Internal Affairs in early October with a request to appoint and conduct an extraordinary re-certification of employees of the former Berkut. However, there is no reaction from the ministry yet.
“If she is not there within two weeks, all employees of the special police battalion of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Lviv region will be transferred to a newly created unit. Thus, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine will testify to its reluctance to reveal the crimes committed by Berkut fighters on the Maidan,” says the document adopted by the deputies of the regional council.
