Lviv historian: If you want to get two Ukraines, start talking about Bandera
If you want to get two Ukraines, start talking about Bandera, if you want one, start talking about Stalin.
Lviv historian Yaroslav Gritsak writes about this in an op-ed for the magazine " Kraina ," pointing out that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin currently lead the ranking of antiheroes in Ukraine.

Bandera is third in terms of level of rejection,” notes Gritsak. – However, unlike Putin and Stalin, there are three significant differences in attitude towards him. Firstly, the number of those who do not like him was not a majority in April 2014, but a minority - 48 percent. Secondly, the positive attitude towards him over the past year has not worsened, but improved – from 22 to 31 percent. But this – thirdly – is not enough to achieve at least 50+1 percent.”
Further, the author admits that it is Bandera who is splitting Ukraine.
“Bandera, unlike Putin and Stalin, still does not unite Ukraine, but divides it,” the historian sums up. – Plot on a map of Ukraine the percentage of those who love him and who hate him, and you will immediately get two Ukraines. This confirms my old thesis. If you want to get two Ukraines, start talking about Bandera. If you want to have one Ukraine, talk about Stalin.”
