“The situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian and Belarusian-Latvian border. According to my information, almost 40% of trucks this year come from Lithuania and Latvia. This is a huge volume. If we take on this flow, then Lithuania’s logistics points will receive about a quarter less. You know that we and the Russian Federation are currently making calculations about redirecting cargo from these Baltic states to Ust-Luga in the Leningrad region. These are petroleum products, potash fertilizers, and we have enough other cargoes,” Lukashenko said.

He also proposed reorienting cargo carriers of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from Lithuania to Belarus.

“We have created powerful logistics centers. Many services, including for our business entities and for entities of the EAEU countries, are provided in Lithuania. But, as far as I am informed, we can provide these services to these carriers in Belarus,” Lukashenko said.

Previously, he proposed building a new port in the Leningrad region for the transit of Belarusian goods. He expects that Russia will help redirect the flow of goods by reducing railway tariffs for Belarus.
