Lukashenko: I have already been dominated
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the need for changes to the country's Constitution, but assures that this is not connected with intentions to retain his powers for a longer period.
Lukashenko, during his address to the nation today, declared the need to reduce the president's powers in favor of other branches of government, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“People ask me whether I would like to leave this constitution to my successor. I say straight out - no. We have already passed the stage when we needed strong power. It is necessary to load other structures with authority. The head of state should not wander around fields and farms,” Lukashenko said.
He rejected accusations that he needed a new constitution to stay in power.
“But this does not mean that we will make any attempt to create such a system that Lukashenko seems to have left and not left. This will not happen in the country. I definitely promise you. I think about the future of my country, not about my personal power. Listen, I've already had my way. Stop writing about it. Incompetent people who think so,” Lukashenko said
