Lukashenko took responsibility for training Belarusian militants in Ukraine
Alexander Lukashenko held himself and the KGB of Belarus responsible for the fact that Belarusian boys were recruited into militant camps in Ukraine. One of those who underwent training was the editor of the extremist website “Nekhta” Roman Protasevich, who is now under house arrest.
Lukashenko stated this at a press conference in Minsk, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Take Protasevich (this is already personal). Why did I take such a step? He is now practically free. Go to work. He decided to install a computer and let him do it.
Why do I consider myself guilty of this? After all, I was informed that camps were being created in Ukraine where militants were being trained. First of all, from among our people. And these snotty ones (he was 20 years old or younger at the time), he went to Ukraine and ended up in this detachment. But what did this detachment do (these are, of course, the CRU’s) - in order to cover them up (he’s not a militant, we’ve studied it) they threw our people who were preparing against the “dictator” onto the Donbass line. Specially a machine gun, a machine gun in your hand - take a photo, post it on the Internet. This kid posted it, and today they are told: well, you’re a militant in the Donbass. “I didn’t fight in Donbass.” They smeared them with blood,” noted the Belarusian leader.
He said that he gave investigators from the LPR the opportunity to interrogate Protasevich.”
“But he didn’t shoot or kill people. What a shooter he is. You see. If he had shot, he would have already been in Donbass. They came here and interrogated him, I allowed it. They were satisfied with this conversation,” Lukashenko said.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus, Dmitry Gora, denied the fact that Protasevich was interrogated by representatives of the Donbass Republic. In Lugansk, Protasevich is suspected of organizing a paid hunt for people.
