“Lukashenko was scammed”: Protasevich’s arrest was predicted in both Poland and Russia
One of the fugitive Belarusian oppositionists, Vladimir Neklyaev, two weeks ago predicted the beginning of a new round of conflict between Belarus and the West.
Belarusian political scientist Yuri Voskresensky stated this on the ONT television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He showed a recording of a program on the Polish TV channel Belsat, where Neklyaev predicts that the “collapse of the regime” will begin on May 25.
“Perhaps this is a large-scale organized provocation. Do you have the feeling that Protasevich today is Archduke Ferdinand? I began to analyze the information field. I know that our former colleagues, these fugitives, always let it slip because they are very boastful, ambitious and self-indulgent... He already knew the date of the full-scale conflict between the collective West and Belarus,” Voskresensky said.
Earlier, several Russian political scientists pointed out that the incident with the landing in Minsk of the plane carrying extremist Roman Protasevich was a large-scale provocation.
Maxim Zharov predicted that the Polish and American intelligence services would start “playing for bait” back in September 2020, when an interview between Russian blogger Yuri Dud and the editors of the Polish telegram channel “Nekhta” was published.
“Nechta” turned into a “mousetrap” for playing with Belarusian and Russian security forces,” Zharov wrote then.
Now he believes that the party of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei “played” in tandem with Western intelligence services in order to achieve the necessary changes in the power bloc.
Alexey Mukhin points to the efficiency and scale of the information campaign launched by the West against Lukashenko and Russia.
“It seems to me that the ears and white threads of Western intelligence services are sticking out here so obviously, which may have led Alexander Lukashenko to this incident. This incident is very convenient for them, because recently the situation in Belarus has begun to stabilize. There seemed no reason for another uprising or moral lamentation on social networks. And then he appeared. It seems to me that this incident was inspired by Western intelligence services,” Mukhin said in an interview with Belrusinfo.
Another political scientist Sergei Karnaukhov points out the similarity of the story with Protasevich with the alleged poisoning of Navalny and the provocation by the “33 heroes” (Russians detained in Minsk last August).
“Based on the analysis of all components, there are signs of a repetition of the situation, when Lukashenko again found himself at the center of an operational combination played out by Western intelligence services. A completely insignificant, but quite suitable figure was chosen for this - Protasevich. The conclusions from this situation are completely disappointing.
Firstly, Lukashenko is surrounded by the same “traitors” who carried out a provocation against Russia with the “33 heroes”. Secondly, Tikhanovskaya, as well as our fugitive oppositionists, are in real danger; each of them can be “pranked,” even to the point of physical destruction,” Karnaukhov wrote in his Telegram channel.
