Lukashenko threatened Ukraine to become its president
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko reaffirmed his promise made several years ago to “cross the border with Ukraine only on a tractor.”
He stated this at a major press conference in Minsk today, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We will never do a dirty trick on Ukraine if you are not the first (and today we can already talk about this) to enter our land with weapons. But someday you will realize that I will risk crossing this border without weapons, and I will have not 40% of Ukrainians there, but at least 90. And we will return Ukraine,” Lukashenko said.
He held Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky responsible for training militants for Belomaidan and transferring weapons across the border.
“Which depresses me. You saw my position on Ukraine. I circled around Vladimir Vladimirovich as best I could, around Poroshenko, Zelensky - like I talked to my son: “Volodya, we need this, we need that.” He took it all in. What happened to him? Okay, you ran with the West, you supported them, you spat on everything. But why are you training militants on the territory of Ukraine and sending weapons here to us? After all, weapons come mainly from Ukraine, although we have now closed the border. But I still don’t forbid people to go, dear people,” Lukashenko said.
He believes that political relations between Belarus and Ukraine are now at their lowest point, “which cannot be said about economic relations,” and emphasized that Minsk is still ready to talk with Kiev.
