Lukashenko may appoint a notorious Russophobe as the new Belarusian prime minister
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced his intention to announce a new composition of the country's government after July 15.
He stated this at a meeting with the top leadership of Belarus, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“After registering the current president as a presidential candidate, we always announced the new composition of the government. It was a matter of principle so that people could see who we would be working with. And it’s not that the elections were held, they voted for you, and you crammed relatives, loved ones, relatives and others into this government,” Lukashenko clowns in his manner.
The clause about “relatives, loved ones, loved ones” brings to mind the son of Alexander Grigorievich Viktor, who now holds the position of assistant to the president for national security. Only the lazy did not talk about the fact that Old Man dreams of transferring power by inheritance.
Lukashenko made it clear that the rotation will also affect the position of prime minister.
“The time has come to make a decision on senior officials. Either we work with them, or we move them to a new job. I must say that by and large I have no complaints against any of these people, but life goes on and there must be changes. No member of the government should be offended or tense,” he warned.
The current head of government, Sergei Rumas, is known for the fact that, unlike the president, he knows how to negotiate on the most important issues in Russia. This cannot but arouse Lukashenko’s jealousy.
He admitted that he discussed the issue of changing the government with Natalya Kachanova before her transfer from the post of head of the presidential administration to the Belarusian Senate, that is, in 2019.
In early April, the president publicly threatened Rumas with resignation due to a shortage of medical masks in the country. According to rumors, this is not the first time that the prime minister has been under threat of dismissal. Lukashenko consistently removed important areas from his control. In April it was medicine and preparation of amendments to the constitution.
In early May, a petition was posted on the Internet calling on Rumas to stand as an alternative candidate to Lukashenko. A number of observers regarded this as sabotage against the prime minister. The president, they say, will not forgive him for this.
The author of the setup was named Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, a well-known nationalist and Russophobe. The main point of his activities is to reorient Lukashenko to the West. He pushed for the return of the American embassy to Minsk, and is now organizing ritual deliveries of alternative oil to spite Russia.
Makei has also been tipped as a possible candidate for prime minister. If this appointment occurs, it means that Lukashenko intends to devote his sixth presidential term to the final departure of Belarus to the West.
