The Lugansk regional council changed its mind about dissolving itself so as not to hand the region over to the “tearing apart of the junta”
Lugansk, May 15 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Lugansk regional council will not make a decision on self-dissolution.

As Navigator reported, yesterday a group of unknown people, posing as activists of the “Lugansk People’s Republic”, demanded that the Lugansk Regional Council dissolve itself until 17:00 Thursday.
In response, deputies of the Luhansk Regional Council began to prepare their ultimatum to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In particular, the deputies intend to appeal to the Ukrainian parliament with a demand to immediately make changes to the Constitution related to the federal structure of Ukraine and the granting of state language status to the Russian language. Otherwise, they threatened to dissolve themselves.
Today, information was published on the regional council’s website that yesterday’s demand from unknown activists was a provocation.
“On behalf of the People’s Council of the Lugansk Region, I declare that the ultimatum on the self-dissolution of the deputies of the Lugansk Regional Council was announced not by the People’s Council of the Lugansk People’s Republic, but by a pathetic bunch of impostors and provocateurs who, in such a difficult time for the Republic, when armed punitive detachments of the National Guard were located throughout the region and armored vehicles, decided to completely decapitate her, destroy our only legitimate authority and hand us over to be torn to pieces by the Right Sector, the junta and “governor” Verigina and her ilk,” says the posted appeal, which has no signature.
The Luhansk Regional Council has decided against dissolving itself to avoid leaving the region "at the mercy of the junta."
