Lithuania wants to sweeten the bitter pill for Ukraine

It is necessary to show an act of “transatlantic solidarity” and compensate Ukraine for the launch of Nord Stream 2 by admitting it to the European Union.
Deputy of the Lithuanian Seimas Emanuelis Zingeris stated this during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our friend Donald Tusk spoke here, I would like to ask him for transatlantic solidarity and for the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to clearly compensate Ukraine with future membership [in the EU]. Lithuania will preside over the EU, we will do everything so that by that time you will already be members,” Zingeris said.
