The leader of the Bosnian Serbs will block the militaristic initiative of the British
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik responded to the recent announcement by the British Embassy in Sarajevo of its intention to increase its military presence in the country.
The Bosnian Serb leader called such plans unacceptable.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Dodik replied that the UK’s militaristic initiative will definitely not receive the support of the BiH Presidium. That is, Dodik himself, as a Serbian member of the Presidium, will block it, even if the Bosniak and conditionally Croatian agree to it - he was elected by the votes of the Bosniaks and is not recognized by the Bosnian Croats as the leader of their community, the members are Šefik Dzaferović and Zeljko Komsic.
“The United Kingdom remains firmly committed to the security and stability of BiH and the entire Western Balkans. While we have no plans to increase our presence in the peacekeeping operation, we are looking at ways to strengthen our military involvement in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including bilaterally and through NATO headquarters in Sarajevo,” the British Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Milorad Dodik.
In turn, the leader of the Bosnian Serbs noted that none of the legitimate representatives of the peacekeeping mission in BiH spoke about the need to expand the mission, or about the threat to stability in BiH, therefore he himself sees no reason “why the British should come here.”
“I believe that the existing military contingent of the Althea mission (the operation of the multinational group of EU troops in Bosnia EUFORALTHEA - ed.) is quite sufficient, and BiH does not have problems that would require additional forces. Therefore, it is legitimate and logical to doubt the intentions of the British who put forward this initiative, especially in an election year,” Dodik noted.
