This opinion was voiced at a press conference in Kyiv by Andrey Zolotarev, head of the Third Sector analytical center, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

In his opinion, the main trends of 2015 will be the competition between the presidential and prime minister's teams and the growing alienation of citizens from the state.
“The magic wand that Putin is going to war against us no longer works,” says the political scientist. – We will see this by how the mobilization takes place. In Western Ukraine, we have already seen how entire villages were rented out and left behind the cordon on the eve of the delivery of summonses. We will see something similar during this call. The ideological support for all this is no longer adequate. I think that against the backdrop of a sharp drop in living standards, the effect of singing patriotic mantras will be the opposite.”
As for the situation in Donbass, Andrei Zolotarev believes that neither side nor the other is interested in a final peaceful settlement of the conflict.
“This means that Donbass will remain a bleeding spot for a long time,” the expert predicts.
