European businessmen are pressuring their countries' governments to lift sanctions against Russia. Former Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski stated this in an interview with TV channel 112, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to him, by adopting sanctions against Russia, the European Union has surpassed itself.

“From my point of view, the European Union has done more than I expected... The European Union has shown that even countries that had very warm relations with Russia, such as Italy, Spain, and so on, accept sanctions. The European Union is holding on to this for now, but we must understand that for many European leaders this is very inconvenient, because their business, entrepreneurs are always saying to get away from sanctions, the Russian market is needed, and so on. They are under strong pressure from their big businessmen,” Kwasniewski said.
