Kyiv, June 24 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Verkhovna Rada Deputy Sergei Kunitsyn has been appointed as a freelance adviser to President Petro Poroshenko.

The corresponding decree was published on the website of the head of state.

Previously, Kunitsyn stated that Ukraine could have retained Crimea if he had been appointed prime minister of the autonomy after the Maidan victory.

“If I had gone there earlier, right after the Maidan victory,” the deputy complained.

According to him, there was still a chance to “reformat the government.” Kunitsyn claims that his candidacy in Simferopol was perceived “better than someone coming from Svoboda or Batkivshchyna.”

“But while we were thinking for a long time here, a military operation began,” Kunitsyn said about the politicians in Kyiv.

In his opinion, Ukraine could save Crimea by giving it maximum powers - in fact, within the framework of the 1992 Constitution.

“Return to the law on the division of powers. Give up everything except sovereignty. Unfortunately, I was not heard,” says Kunitsyn.

“There were prerequisites for me to return there as prime minister, if not for the situation with these little green men. If it weren’t for the occupation, there would be every reason to return there and help pull Crimea out of the hole in which it found itself,” the deputy once again lamented.
