Crimean Tatar politician: The best thing Ukraine has managed to do is sow discord
Russia pays much more attention to the development of Crimea than Ukraine, which treated the peninsula as a periphery. What Kyiv did best was not to build, but to sow ethnic discord between Crimeans.
Deputy head of the Sudak administration Eyvaz Umerov stated this on the Crimean television channel Millet Channel, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

“For me personally, the following is indicative. My son goes to school No. 44 in the Fontany microdistrict. This school was the personification of Crimea - under four presidents this school was not completed, but with the arrival of Russia it was completed in a little more than a year. Today, the whole of Crimea is being transformed, like this school. This is an example: political impotence and lack of will of the previous government.
There was money in Ukraine. Large cities were built on the mainland of Ukraine. And Crimea was both a political and economic periphery. He didn't get enough attention.
The only thing that was given attention was to sow ethnic hatred in Crimea. And it was unpleasant.
Russia is now paying so much attention to Crimea that we don’t feel like stepchildren or outcasts, we really are back in the family,” Umerov said.
