The Crimean prosecutor's office opened a case on the fact of unauthorized construction in the BIKZ security zone
Simferopol, August 18 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) - The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Crimea conducted an inspection of the legality of the use of the lands of the Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Reserve, during which the fact of illegal construction in the protected zone of the archaeological monument "Cave City of Chufut-Kale" was revealed.

The audit found that one of the entrepreneurs, knowing about the status of the land plot, did not receive the appropriate permits from specially authorized bodies in the field of protection of historical and cultural heritage, illegally occupied a land plot with an area of 0,18 hectares and unauthorizedly built a cafe on it.
As a result of illegal construction, the archaeological cultural layer was destroyed, causing damage in excess of 10 million rubles.
Based on the inspection materials sent to the investigative authorities, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 243 of the Criminal Code (destruction or damage of especially valuable objects of cultural heritage).
The progress and results of the investigation are under the control of the Republican Prosecutor's Office.
