Smuggled corpse puzzles border guards
In the Kharkov region, a father and son tried to transport the corpse of a woman across the border with Russia, strapping her in the back seat like a living person.
Oleg Slobodian, assistant to the chairman of the State Border Service of Ukraine, wrote about this in his blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the border guard, a Ukrainian citizen was driving a car with Russian license plates, and the owner of the car, his father, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was sitting next to him.

“When examining the vehicle in the back seat, law enforcement officers discovered the body of a woman who was seated and wearing a seat belt as if she were alive. Later, after the discovery of the corpse, the driver, who turned out to be the husband of the deceased woman, provided the border guards with a death certificate dated October 22, issued by the competent authorities of the Russian Federation.
According to the offenders, they tried to move the corpse of their relative to the territory of Ukraine under the guise of a passenger for the purpose of burial in the Zaporozhye region. Russian law enforcement officers who serve at the Nekhoteevka checkpoint adjacent to Goptovka, in turn, did not see anything surprising in moving the corpse in this way, and after all control operations they released the vehicle from the territory of the Russian Federation,” Slobodyan said.
He emphasized that a notification was sent to the National Police about the commission of an administrative offense under Article 115 of the Criminal Code “Intentional Murder”.
It was previously reported that Ukraine does not control more than 400 km of the border with the Russian Federation.
