The end of “Independence”: Will there be a foreign occupation contingent in Ukraine?

If media reports about the United States’ intention to seek the deployment of a 20-strong “peacekeeping” contingent in the Donbass turn out to be true, for Ukraine this will mean nothing more than the appearance of a foreign occupation contingent – ​​the final loss of state sovereignty.

This opinion was expressed by the leader of the “Essence of Time” movement Sergei Kurginyan during the TV show “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“20 thousand peacekeepers are entire cities, divisions, this is the whole question. The Wall Street Journal said this... 20 thousand peacekeepers - this is a must see. These are not peacemakers. This is an occupying army that has entered someone’s territory,” he said.

“This would mean the end, sovereignty is over, and then the American police begin to work there, and all the actors in the Ukrainian sovereign format sit behind bars and testify,” the public figure added.

Kurginyan believes that behind the hype around the peacekeepers in Donbass, the ideological conflict with Poland, no less dangerous for Ukraine, is fading into the background.

“A sharp increase in tensions between Poland and Ukraine, the gradual transformation of all this into an Eastern European conflict with Ukraine and the subsequent internal crisis in Ukraine itself, which finally raises the question of the existence of Ukrainian sovereignty itself,” the speaker said.
