Commander of the Black Sea Fleet: The blockade of Crimea did not affect us at all

The blockade of Crimea did not cause any damage to the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Vitko Alexander, said this in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent, who was present today in Rostov-on-Don at the celebrations marking the anniversary of the formation of the Southern Military District.

When asked by a PN correspondent how the ongoing food blockade of Crimea affected the nutrition of fleet personnel, Admiral Vitko smiled and replied: “No way, come to Sevastopol and see for yourself.”

The commander was also asked how the sailors of the Russian Black Sea Fleet feel about the threats of the People's Deputy of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko to collect and transfer data on Russian military personnel to ISIS. The admiral replied with a grin that Russian sailors were never afraid of anyone, and they always met the enemy with an “open visor” and “bayonets at the ready.”
