When Russia will run out of oil and gas
In the foreseeable future, Russia is not in danger of depleting its oil and gas reserves, the export of which provides the lion's share of revenues to the state budget.
Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dmitry Kobylkin stated this at a meeting of the Federation Council, answering a question from Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Oil and gas in Russia, I can’t say that they will never run out, but they won’t run out for a very long time. It's all a myth (that they will end). I am in charge of the Yamalo-Nenets District, we made preliminary forecasts for reaching the pre-shelf and shelf zones. As for gas - 50 trillion (cubic meters) according to what is visible to the naked eye. The further we go along this fault from the coastal zone, the more gas there is,” the minister said.
