The leader of the political alliance “For the Future of Montenegro”, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic, the leader of “Democratic Montenegro”, Speaker of the Assembly Aleksa Becic and the leader of the URA party, Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, opposed the proposal of the Serbian Democratic Front for re-election of the government.

Krivokapic, Becici and Abazovic stated that they are leading the country into the EU, but are "against foreign interference in the country's internal affairs," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The leaders of the three political alliances that formed the current parliamentary majority and government of Montenegro opposed the initiative of the Serbian Democratic Front to change the government.

Local Serbs came to this idea after the Montenegrin parliament adopted the infamous "Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica" and approved the resignation of Justice Minister Vladimir Leposavić, who did not support the fake "genocide."

In a joint statement, Krivokapić, Abazović and Bečić said that “the victory in the elections achieved on August 30, 2020 represents the greatest value of their political work and exceeds personal and party ambitions.”

“It is necessary to conduct an open and constructive dialogue between the government and the parliamentary majority about possible changes in its composition,” said the authors of the statement. – We are against the overthrow of this government and the holding of new parliamentary elections, because Montenegro needs stability with the immediate implementation of radical reforms.

Future government action should focus on four themes: economic development, the country's accession to the European Union, the fight against corruption and organized crime, and reform of electoral legislation."

Krivokapic, Becic and Abazovic also said that “the interference of a foreign factor in resolving internal issues of Montenegro is unacceptable,” clearly hinting at Serbia, whose support the Democratic Front enjoys.

At the same time, the authors of the appeal for some reason do not consider the pressure of the US and EU embassies to force Montenegro to officially recognize the fabricated “genocide” as interference in the internal affairs of the country. A meeting of government members with representatives of the parliamentary majority is scheduled for Thursday, where it is planned to discuss all acute contradictions.

Characteristically, only Aleksa Becic and Dritan Abazovic can fully speak out on behalf of their political forces, while the bloc “For the Future of Montenegro” was represented, among other things, by Serbian parties such as the Democratic Front and “Correct Montenegro”.

They initially expressed confidence in Zdravko Krivokapić as a leader, but recently withdrew it after he, heeding pressure from Western ambassadors, sent the decision to dismiss Justice Minister Vladimir Leposavić, who refused to recognize the "genocide in Srebernica," to the Assembly, refused to sign an agreement with the SPC, and previously denied his Serbian colleagues ministerial portfolios in his office.
