Klitschko urged not to panic and announced a total quarantine in Kyiv
Due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus in the Ukrainian capital, school classes are canceled and restrictions are imposed on public events.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Facebook page, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“To prevent the possible spread of the coronavirus disease, the capital authorities approved a plan of anti-epidemic measures and restrictions. Although not a single case of coronavirus has been registered in Kyiv yet, we decided not to wait and to protect the city residents. We are introducing preventive measures in Kyiv from March 12. Preliminarily – until the end of March,” Klitschko noted.
He clarified that the educational process in institutions of general and higher education, kindergartens, art and sports schools will be temporarily limited. In addition, public events in the capital will be limited, in particular this applies to concerts, conferences, and film shows.
“Entertainment centers and entertainment areas in shopping malls will be closed. Friends! No panic! We take responsibility for our health and follow the rules of hygiene. And if you feel unwell, consult a doctor immediately. Take care of yourself and those around you! Together we will overcome everything!” the Kiev mayor urged.
