Kiev political scientist: Crimea needs new Ukrainian propaganda - more cunning, not frontal (VIDEO)
Kyiv, February 04 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – Sociologists record a high level of support for Russia in Crimea, because residents of the peninsula are simply afraid to admit their pro-Russian sentiments.
Political scientist Taras Berezovets said this in Kyiv at a press conference dedicated to the results of the GFK Ukraine opinion poll, which demonstrated 84% support for the Russian status of the peninsula.

“The results of the study cannot be absolute. The people who answered the phone are living in the novel “1984.” They think one thing and say another. There is a general atmosphere of denunciation, fear and paranoia. Neighbors inform on neighbors. This makes it difficult to understand what is really going on in people's heads,” he said.
Berezovets believes that to return Crimea to Ukrainian control, new propaganda from Kyiv is needed - more cunning, not frontal.
“We need elements of frontal, but soft propaganda. We cannot talk about Russian aggression. As much as we would like to talk about annexation, we must find the right words so as not to alienate those people who are now confused,” he said.
According to Taras Berezovets, civil society in Ukraine should now focus on creating new media that would win the trust of Crimeans (the GFK survey also showed the distrust of residents of the peninsula in the current Ukrainian media because of their lies about the republic).
