Kyiv authorities beg Trump: stop talking about our country, please!
A recent article under this headline appeared in FOREIGN POLICY, an American publication that covers international affairs. Donald Trump seems to have gone off the rails… He's already spoken out about African Americans, Mexicans, Iraq War veterans, and other social groups that the happy American public tends to ignore. On Sunday, Trump started talking about Ukraine and hasn't stopped since. Statements by Arsen Avakov, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly, and others can be paraphrased as follows: "This completely contradicts the official position of the White House. How can this be? We didn't agree on this!"

FOREIGN POLICY describes how the deal was reached, recalling the entire story of Crimea's secession but with new details. According to the publication, the Kyiv authorities were well aware of the impending deployment of Russian troops to Crimea before the referendum. But according to a transcript of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine from February 28, 2014, the putschists who seized power in Kyiv reached an agreement with the Americans. It read as follows: "Kyiv will not resist Russia's secession of Crimea, and in return, America and the entire Western world will provide every possible support to the Kyiv regime."
Now Trump, standing in opposition to Obama, with whom the Kiev regime negotiated, with statements that Crimea is Russia, and Putin does not need Ukraine, destroyed this agreement, and Ukrainian issues truly began to be discussed in the Western press.
