Kyiv rejected negotiations with Donbass. Preparations are underway for a new war
Yesterday’s breakdown of negotiations in Minsk by the Ukrainian side is evidence that Kyiv is abandoning a political settlement of the crisis in Donbass and is betting on a new round of war.
Political scientist Denis Denisov, an expert at the Institute of CIS Countries, told PolitNavigator about this.

“Now there is every prerequisite to believe that Kyiv has already determined for itself that it is not going to resolve the conflict in Donbass in any way except by force.
The political dialogue within the framework of the Minsk negotiations is actually blocked on the Ukrainian side. There is no law on special status, constitutional reform, election law or amnesty.
Unfortunately, the situation is getting worse, and without influence from external players, the conflict in Donbass is unlikely to be resolved.
Speaking about a theoretically possible offensive, it must be said that representatives of the DPR and LPR are monitoring the situation, intelligence is working, and they are informed about possible impending provocations. There are certain prerequisites for the offensive not to be effective.
The signatures collected in Donbass for the UN are one of the extreme steps to attract the attention of the international community to the tragedy that is unfolding. Residents of the LDPR demand that the world community open its eyes to the conflict that is taking place in the Donbass, and, before it is too late, influence the Ukrainian side,” Denisov noted.
