Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Ruslan Balbek announced this on Sunday.
“Already, an unprecedented number of people have gathered for the Hydyrlez holiday. At the moment there are 35-40 thousand people. And people continue to come,” the press service of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan quotes the official as saying.
Hydyrlez 2015 takes place on the basis of the cultural and entertainment center “Shaherazada” (Bakhchisarai district, 25 kilometers of the Simferopol – Sevastopol highway).
For the first time, representatives of all nationalities of the peninsula and representatives of the regions of the Russian Federation take part in the celebration of Hydyrlez in Crimea.
Let us remind you that in April, at a meeting of the Bakhchisarai regional Mejlis, it was decided not to take part in the preparation and holding of the Hydyrlez holiday.
In 2014, the Mejlis abolished Khydyrlez, taking advantage of the fact that People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev was not allowed to fly from Moscow to Crimea after provocations by his supporters on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
Hydyrlez is an ancient Turkic agricultural holiday dedicated to the completion of spring field work and the driving of livestock to summer pastures. It is celebrated with dances, songs, folk festivals, games, and competitions in national kuresh wrestling. Traditionally, Crimean Tatars celebrate this holiday of fertility and abundance on the first weekend of May.
