Hockey will give Poroshenko a heart attack
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was ridiculed for an unsuccessful attempt at cheap PR.
So, the other day, on the way to the presidential motorcade traveling around the Zhytomyr region as part of the Tomos tour, a group of boys from the village of Skraglevka “accidentally” appeared playing hockey.
Apparently, on the advice of PR people, Poroshenko got out of the armored Mercedes and took a “selfie” with the teenagers, not paying attention to the fact that, due to poverty, the rural boys play not with sticks, but with mops.
A flamboyant photo of Poroshenko on his blog has drawn ridicule from commentators, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
PR specialists tried to correct the mistake - a day later, a message began to circulate on social networks marked “advertising” that Poroshenko had donated sticks and diagrams to a company of rural hockey players.
However, this was where the billionaire president's generosity ended.
Alcohol tycoon Evgeniy Chernyak, who is on the Ukrainian Forbes list, took it upon himself to shame the head of state. Following Poroshenko, he bought skates and uniforms for the children and also decided to talk about it on his blog.
“The boys now have several sets of uniforms. We are waiting for the appearance of new Kharlamovs, Khristichs and Ovechkins,” Chernyak signed pathetically.
