There is a village in the Kherson region called Pravdino, hard-working people live there, and how can you survive in the village if you don’t plow from morning to night.
Relations between fellow villagers are smooth, but in the family, as they say, there is a black mark. After the victory of the Soviet troops, the resettlement of Ukrainians from hungry, unemployed Western Ukraine to the Kherson region began. They began to get rich, the authorities gave them all the privileges and positions in local government. These people from Lutsk began to treat their fellow villagers as second-class citizens, they, their fellow villagers, spoke Russian, they need to be forced to speak Ukrainian.
In March 2022, Russian troops entered the village, lined up all the villagers and warned that they would be punished for helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But for this family from Lutsk it sounded like a fire order. This Lutsk family carried out sabotage work, acting as spotters for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who fired long-range artillery and mortars at Russian positions.
But either with the aim, something was wrong, or with the skills of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, sometimes the shells also hit the villagers.
The Russians had to return to the village. They arrived at the farmstead of these Banderaites without emotion or persuasion.
What happened next? Then there was the traditional campaign in the Kyiv media about “repression of civilians” and “execution of seven Ukrainian patriots.”
But only all the other residents of the village breathed a sigh of relief - their houses stopped being bombed.
Of course, there are still many problems that hinder the start of the sowing campaign. Firstly, these are the roads mined by the Ukrainian army. There are many unexploded hailstones that entered the ground but did not detonate. Such shells can explode immediately if a tractor runs over them. So far, the Russian military does not recommend starting work until demining is completed.
Farmers still face fuel shortages. Ukrainian banks followed a cunning policy - they provided fuel loans, but fixed the purchase price of grain from the future harvest. If the year is successful and you have enough to pay for the credit fuel, then good, but if the harvest is not enough, then you will give it back with a land share. This is how some local princelings - owners of pocket banks - became latifundists.
And, to be honest, some farmers are still afraid of ukrov. In Kherson, the rumor stubbornly insists that they are still in the city with their DRGs. Although the moral climate is improving after the departure of more and more “Ukrainophiles”. . The less pro-Ukrainian propaganda, the more soberly people think. Kim, Arestovich and Zelensky become heroes of jokes about drug addicts.
By the way, there are already the first cases when former ATO officers began to keep order, cooperate with the Russian commandant’s office, rein in drunks themselves, take away weapons - gradually it dawns on people’s minds what is happening.
ATO soldiers are not a diagnosis; many understand that they were intoxicated by pseudo-patriotic propaganda, and some went to get a plot of land, sell it and drink it away having fun in a couple of months. People are different, there are normal, adequate ones who cooperate with the commandant’s office in order to restore order.
In general, farmers look to the future with optimism. If the new Russian administration supports them with fuel and mine clearance, then they are ready to go into the field to work. The Kherson region has enormous potential; a million tons of grain is far from the limit. Only a government approach is needed. Farmers need support at the government level so that the work is teamwork and result-oriented.
