Kharkov becomes a key target for Russia
Russia has increased the intensity of its strikes on Kharkov to force local residents to leave the city.
The American news agency Bloomberg writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The publication notes that the Kremlin's latest actions towards Kharkov "appear to be a coordinated effort aimed at creating conditions that will make the city uninhabitable."
“The siege of Kharkov is one of the main directions of the Russian military operation, which takes advantage of Ukraine’s dwindling artillery and air defense reserves, as well as a lack of manpower,” the article says.
It is indicated that the damage from the attacks, especially to the energy sector, is so significant that it will be difficult for the authorities to restore the city’s vital functions before the onset of cold weather next winter.
In addition, the construction of defensive structures by the Ukrainian Armed Forces around Kharkov is “spreading panic.”
The authors cite the opinion of American officials who believe that “Kharkov is a key target for Moscow.”
