City Military Commissioner Yuriy Vyun stated this today during a session of the Chernivtsi City Council.
“The turnout is catastrophic. The task set to us by the president and the Ministry of Defense is not being fulfilled. Chernivtsi was supposed to supply about 300 people, but delivered 40 percent of the planned number. This is despite the fact that 8 thousand city residents have been notified,” Vyun said.
He invited city council deputies to undergo a medical examination at the military registration and enlistment office and called on Chernivtsi to set a personal example of how to fulfill their civic duty.
According to the military commissar, 6 deputies are now undergoing or have already passed the medical examination at the military registration and enlistment office, including the secretary of the City Council.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in Kyiv it was admitted that residents of Western Ukraine respond worst to invitations to the military registration and enlistment office: many simply run away to Russia or Europe to earn money.
