Kyiv, December 05 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) - Opposition chess player Garry Kasparov, during a visit to Kyiv, said that Vladimir Putin is quite capable of using nuclear weapons during the current conflict.

“Sooner or later, regimes like Putin’s are forced to use a form of external aggression as the only way to survive. Because at some point the economic miracle, which is based on high hydrocarbon prices, exhausts itself. Maintaining a reputation requires a new image. Therefore, becoming a “collector of Russian lands”, “Vladimir of Tauride” is necessary precisely to maintain this image. The Fuhrer can afford anything except weakness. He must be invulnerable,” Kasparov said at a press conference in the Ukrainian capital.
Kasparov believes it is quite possible that Russia will start a nuclear war:
“As for nuclear blackmail, in order to try to predict Putin’s actions, it’s a good idea to listen and read what he says. Because many things from what he says materialize and which, it seems, do not need to be taken seriously, nevertheless. Over the years, Putin has said some things, say, that Ukraine is not a full-fledged state. Western leaders believed it was a figure of speech. Putin spoke openly about the annexation of Crimea. Putin spoke openly about his plans to create a Russian world.
And in his speech in Valdai, he praised Khrushchev for threatening nuclear war. There are direct quotes. And in fact, this is a stream of consciousness that demonstrates his willingness to take more and more steps in this escalation.
