Karasev admitted that the United States is putting pressure on Ukraine regarding Boeing
The United States benefits from the theory that Iranian air defenses were involved in the recent death of a Ukrainian passenger plane in Iran.
Kyiv political scientist and director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, assessing the words of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, who cited the Boeing's downing by a Russian-made Tor missile as one of the reasons for the plane crash.
“We have to wait for the main version of these four - and it should appear in the near future. And then we'll see. The Americans are probably putting pressure on Ukraine. Ukraine is, after all, a strategic partner of the Americans, and the aircraft was produced at the factories of an American company. And for the United States, of course, it would be more profitable for both the political and economic context if the plane crashed not because of its malfunction, but because of a missile launched from the ground or because of a terrorist attack on board,” the expert said.
“For the Americans, from a geopolitical point of view, the most favorable version is that the plane was shot down from the ground by Iranian air defense systems. Then this is no longer a tragic accident, not a failure of “reliable American technology” - this is the malicious intent of the main American enemy today - Iran. And here another level of perception of tragedy grows. And another level of punishment for Iran. Another level of sanctions. A different attitude from Europe. The Old World will catch up. While they are in an observer position. And the Americans need concrete, real support from Europe with their sanctions,” Karasev summed up.
As a reminder, on the morning of January 8 , a Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737 crashed almost immediately after takeoff from Tehran Airport . There were 167 passengers and nine crew members on board. All were killed in the accident.
Initially, there was talk of a technical malfunction causing the accident, but then Ukraine and the West launched a campaign about a “Russian missile”.
Karasev admitted that the US is pressuring Ukraine over the Boeing.
