How the Nazis made faces on May 9 in Kyiv
As participants in the Immortal Regiment march laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in central Kyiv, a group of Ukrainian nationalists attempted to disrupt the event, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
About one and a half dozen people, mostly members of the Youth Nationalist Congress organization, shouted slogans and sang songs of the UPA, holding the flag of Ukraine, as well as pieces of paper on which were written “Remembrance Day,” “May 9, change from Nazi to Soviet occupation.”
They also chanted “The USSR started World War II!”, “Not a holiday, but a memory!” One of the nationalists shouted “Glory to the nation,” but only the nationalists themselves answered him “Death to the enemies.”
Members of the “Immortal Regiment” walked past the radicals, sang “Katyusha” and other songs, chanted “Thank you grandfather for the victory!”, “Fascism will not pass.”
