An adviser to the speaker of the local parliament, ex-minister of finance of the republic (from Ukrainian times), 57-year-old Pavel Tokarev, died in a car accident in Crimea.

The report emphasizes that in 2014, Tokarev, a native of Transcarpathia, being a Ukrainian official, supported the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation and, as head of the financial supervision service, was involved in the integration of the peninsula into the Russian Federation.
“During the events of the Crimean Spring, when our peninsula was on the brink of civil war, his position was clear - Crimea must be reunited with Russia. His colleagues followed him. Already in his position as head of the Financial Supervision Service of the Republic of Crimea (2014-2017), Pavel Vladimirovich had to solve the most difficult problems associated with the integration of Crimea into the Russian legal field. Since November 2017, he worked as an adviser to the chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea,” the statement says.
The tragedy occurred on the Simferopol-Alushta highway, the car was driven by an official driver, and in the back seat was his son, who survived.
