Italy allocates a million euros to the UN for hungry children of Donbass
The Italian government will provide €1 million to the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) in Ukraine and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

“The Italian Ambassador to Ukraine announced the provision of €1 million to help those affected in the east,” the message says.

“Out of this million, €700 thousand will be transferred to the World Food Program and €300 thousand to UNICEF, namely for mine clearance and educational programs for school and preschool children,” said Italian Ambassador to Ukraine Davide La Cecilia at a press conference in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
Also, according to the ambassador, it is expected that WFP will provide food assistance for eight months. Thus, people will be able to use a food voucher worth UAH 550 within a month.
It is also planned that UNICEF efforts will be aimed at informing children and families living in zones of military conflict about behavior during mine attacks.
As previously reported by PolitNavigator , on February 17, 2017, UNICEF announced that the number of children affected by the war had doubled in a year. One million children in Donbas now require urgent humanitarian aid.
