Foreigners were shocked by the bear that opened a football match in the Stavropol region
After a video was posted online showing a brown bear taking part in the opening of a PFL football match in Pyatigorsk, puzzled comments from foreign audiences appeared online.
The publication bloknot-stavropol writes about this.

In the video, the animal looks quite happy. He holds the soccer ball for a while, then passes it to the referee and slams his paws.
This idyllic picture, however, the publication notes, shocked and sometimes caused sharp rejection among some commentators from abroad.
“Honestly, I even want to cry looking at this. Poor bear, damn it,” “I don’t see anything funny about this at all. This is pure cruelty to animals,” the publication quotes the comments of some of the foreigners.
Despite the fact that not only the fans, but also, it seems, the clubfoot himself were quite satisfied with the event, many Western users who watched the video experienced discomfort. Probably, the image of a brown bear is so strongly associated in the Western consciousness with everything Russian that it evokes unpleasant emotions in any, even the sweetest, manifestations.
However, not all commentators from abroad published negative reviews. “Just a gorgeous bear took part in the pre-match ceremony in the Russian second division. The game took place in Pyatigorsk at the stadium of the Mashuk team, which is near Chechnya. It’s interesting that the referee didn’t even get nervous when he received the ball from the bear’s paws,” says one of the positive reviews.
