The law adopted in Latvia banning the wearing of Soviet military uniforms during public events, which are now equated to fascist ones, is a dirty attempt to rewrite historical realities.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The other day, the Latvian Seimas adopted in its final reading legislative amendments prohibiting the wearing of Soviet military uniforms during public events, which are now equated to fascist uniforms in this country.
This annoying desire of official Riga to rewrite the prevailing historical realities is not surprising. We, of course, understood that all this dirty fuss was absolutely unbecoming of people who proceed from the historical truth, that it would continue. But at the same time, it was difficult to imagine that they would go so far.
Although, of course, the ardent desire of Latvian parliamentarians to time their malicious initiatives to coincide with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the victory over the brown plague was expected.
