Groysman threatens Russia with a mirror response
Kyiv will introduce an embargo on supplies from Russia of products whose analogues are produced in Ukraine, and will also impose special duties on Russian goods.
Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman announced this at a meeting of the Ukrainian government.
“Today we have prepared a decision that we will introduce mirror sanctions against Russia, we will introduce an embargo on goods that we produce entirely in Ukraine or can replace... We will introduce special duties on Russian goods in order to respond to the aggressor who wants economically harm us,” Groysman said.
In turn, First Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv presented a draft resolution proposing a ban on the import of mineral fertilizers, agricultural products, and vehicles into Ukraine from the Russian Federation.
“We can say that there are questions about cement, plywood and other products,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
According to him, a specific list of products is set out in the annex to the resolution. Kubiv also claims that sanctions “will help reduce the outflow of capital from our country in favor of the aggressor country, increase the utilization of domestic capacities, increase revenues to budgets at all levels, support existing jobs and create new jobs.”
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Russia imposed restrictions on the supply of petroleum products and a number of other goods to Ukraine, after which the situation on the Ukrainian petroleum products market became close to tragedy.
