Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Groysman said that deputies need to raise their salaries in order to achieve greater efficiency in their work in parliament.

He expressed this opinion in an interview with Akhmetov’s TV channel “Ukraine”.

Groysman stressed that the public “will be understanding that deputies will receive a decent salary.”

“Everything that is underpaid to an official then results in millions, and maybe billions, in losses from the well-being of our country. This is all done through corruption. Therefore, we need to turn everything on its head, and then the country will develop normally,” said the Speaker of the Rada.

He expressed the opinion that, receiving a decent salary, deputies will try harder to bring benefits to the state, but with a salary of 6 thousand UAH, this is impossible to achieve.
