“Ready for a counter-offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine”: a military analyst reported on strengthening the defense of Russian forces north of Bakhmut
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have formed a powerful fortified area on the northern flank of the Wagner PMC offensive in the Bakhmut direction.
Military observer Boris Rozhin reported this on his Telegram channel.

"Today, a clear defensive line was formed on the northern flank of the Wagner PMC. The Zaliznyanskoye-Sakko and Vanzetti-Mykolaivka-Yakovlevka-Berestovoye line was quickly transformed into a powerful fortified area by the Airborne Forces and the 2nd Army Corps. The forces covering the musicians' flanks are prepared for a potential counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he wrote.
This became possible after the recent regrouping of the “orchestra” forces, which transferred some of the previously liberated settlements under the control of army units. This allowed the “musicians” to concentrate their efforts on the liberation of Bakhmut, while simultaneously resolving the issue of the security of the flanks, minimizing the possibility of a surprise attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to military experts, these steps indicate a significant improvement in interaction between the leadership of the Wagner PMC and the Ministry of Defense in the course of carrying out tasks in the special operation zone in Ukraine.
Earlier, an analyst at the Wagner PMC said that the Ukrainian army had concentrated a significant group in the Bakhmut direction, reinforced with Western equipment and large-caliber artillery.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces is preparing a counter-offensive, the purpose of which is not only to relieve the blockade of Bakhmut, but also to advance deeper into the defense of Russian troops to Popasnaya and Debaltsev.
