“We are ready to look for transformers even in unfriendly countries” - head of Ukrenergo
Ukraine is ready to look for transformers for substations destroyed by missile attacks in any countries that use the same voltage class.
Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudrytsky spoke about this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The question was asked which friendly countries are manufacturers of transformers, where Ukraine can order or draw up an agreement to receive them.
“Spain, Belgium, South Korea, India, China, Japan, Ukraine are those countries that host significant production facilities for the production of autotransformers. Moreover, you need to understand that the voltage class used in Ukraine is specific to the CIS countries; it does not coincide with the voltage class used, for example, by European countries.
Just like railway tracks - there is a wide one, there is a narrow one, so here, the voltage class in the main network is 750 and 330 kilovolts, and in Europe 400 and 220. The task is to find not just a powerful transformer, but also one that is suitable us so that we can immediately install it and turn it on. Therefore, we are looking in almost all the countries that I named. We are looking in all countries, regardless of their level of friendliness towards us,” answered Kudritsky.
