As Parliament Speaker Vladimir Konstantinov explained the decision, this decision was made “for the purpose of food security in Crimea.”
The day before, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the republic, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Vitaly Polishchuk, said that the decision on nationalization was forced and was associated with money laundering from enterprises, the export of Crimean grain to Ukraine, which “jeopardizes the food security of the region.”
“Today the grain and flour remains are minimal – from 10 to 12 days. All this leads to unstable operation of the enterprise,” Polishchuk said.
It should be noted that the Krymkhleb enterprise is the largest manufacturer of bakery products on the peninsula, controlling about 36% of the market. At the same time, its owner is the Dutch company “Lauffer”. In particular, Polishchuk explained the nationalization of the enterprise by the lack of mutual understanding with the owner: “There is a complete lack of interaction with the authorities. We did not receive any understanding of our proposal to sign a memorandum to coordinate grain reserves.”
