Journalists reported that the cause of hospitalization was a heart rhythm disorder. In addition, a number of media outlets stated that Gorbachev personally confirmed the information about his poor health.

Meanwhile, the press service of the Gorbachev Foundation organization, headed by the politician, denied information about his poor health. Fund employees said that Mikhail Gorbachev came to work on Monday, September 28. And currently he is in the organization’s conference room, where he is holding a scheduled meeting on operational issues.

At the same time, the Gorbachev Foundation jokingly noted that perhaps the politician hid his poor health from everyone, secretly left the hospital early in the morning and came to work.

Over the past few years, information has repeatedly appeared in the media about the poor health of the ex-President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. So, last fall, an 84-year-old politician was admitted to a Moscow medical clinic due to an exacerbation of a chronic disease. And shortly before that, he spent about a month in Germany, where he took procedures aimed at relieving joint pain.
