The head of the Ministry of Health “explained” why Africa has overtaken Ukraine in vaccinations
The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, Maxim Stepanov, was unable to clearly explain why Ukraine still has problems with vaccination against coronavirus, while even African countries are addressing this issue one after another.
Thus, on the air of the 1+1 TV channel, the official was asked to comment on why the African Ghana received the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus from the international fund COVAX, but Ukraine has not yet, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

In response, he began to say that there are a certain number of vaccines in the world - these are drugs with proven effectiveness - Sinopharm, Sinovac, Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca.
“They passed the first and second stages. The main goal is to immunize as many citizens of the country as possible. Every country is fighting for exactly this,” Stepanov said and assured that no country in the world can afford to be vaccinated with one vaccine.
“Even Israel had Pfizer and Moderna, the two vaccines they contracted. No country in the world can afford to be vaccinated with one vaccine; not a single vaccine manufacturer has enough capacity for everyone.
Now you see what is happening. Pfizer disrupts supplies, AstraZeneca disrupts deliveries. They keep delaying their deliveries. Because there is not enough capacity, such an unprecedented vaccination has never happened in the world. In addition, other vaccines need to be produced. Other diseases have not gone away,” the minister justified himself.
“We will also get Pfizer, we will also get other vaccines. Moreover, this vaccination is not just the first stage. This will then be the second wave of vaccination. It's no secret that after six months you need to get another vaccination. The same Pfizer, Moderna or other vaccines. Therefore, this is a long story,” Stepanov added.
It should be noted that before Ghana, Zimbabwe had overtaken Ukraine in terms of vaccination.
