The head of the CIA personally supervised the arrest of Ruban
The arrest of the chairman of the public organization “Officer Corps” Vladimir Ruban on the border with the DPR may be connected with the fact that on that day the then director of the CIA, and now a candidate for the post of US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, was in Kramatorsk.
Ex-speaker of the SBU Stanislav Rechinsky writes about this today in the Ukrainian weekly “Zerkalo Nedeli”.
“It is likely that the head of the Ukrainian intelligence service decided to demonstrate to the head of the American intelligence service a living example of the fight against “Russian spies.” Gritsak is partial to prayer breakfasts in Washington and other American get-togethers, and he has certain hopes of continuing his political career. And in this light, adding spice to the “dry meal” of the visit by taking Pompeo “on a hunt” to the demarcation line would be quite in the spirit of Vasily Sergeevich,” writes Rechinsky.

He also believes that the story of the detention of Ruban, who allegedly transported weapons from the DPR to stage a terrorist attack in Kiev, received wide resonance because Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko wanted to thus justify his refusal to lay flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko on Kobzar’s birthday.
“Petro Poroshenko, knowing that protesters had already gathered near the monument, decided not to step on the rake, and simply did not come. And in order to quell a possible wave of criticism for cowardice, he used the story about Ruban, who was so opportunely detained. Most likely, this simple explanation is closest to the truth. We already live in the paradigm of the election campaign, the AP is more cowardly than ever and blows on the water even when it is ice,” Rechinsky wrote.
The CIA chief personally oversaw Ruban's arrest.
