Petro Poroshenko’s low ratings are allegedly explained by the fact that he continued to actively trade with the “aggressor” Russia, and therefore patriotic citizens decided to launch a nationwide protest, supporting comedian Vladimir Zelensky.
Nationalist political scientist Konstantin Matvienko, who served Yulia Tymoshenko’s headquarters during the elections, stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Pyotr Alekseevich continued to trade with Russia not only through Ukroboronprom. And diesel, and other goods, investments in the Russian Federation, Russian banks actively operating here, which, unlike a significant part of the Ukrainian ones, remained operating in Ukraine - while Gontareva liquidated half of the banks of Ukraine, along with their assets and debts to citizens !” – Matvienko lamented.
In his opinion, Vladimir Zelensky, who won the first round of elections, is a “bloodless Maidan.”
“The Ukrainian reality that we observe during the reign of Petro Poroshenko led to Zelensky finishing with such a phenomenal result. Zelensky is a collective protest, the third Maidan. Only citizens decided to overthrow the current president not physically through the Maidan, but by choosing a person from outside the system of politicians,” the expert concluded, without specifying whose fault it was that his boss, Tymoshenko, miserably failed the presidential campaign, although she initially had every chance of winning.
