“Restaurants in Rappoport invite everyone to New Year’s banquets. Among them is a ride on a comfortable yacht around the Kremlin under the motto: “New Year in the style of the glamorous 30s.” And the Spasskaya Tower on a flyer with a ruby ​​star dusted with snow... The most interesting thing is that few of those whom Rappoport invites to his holiday would have survived in the USSR of the 30s. They would all be dismissed as speculators and enemies of the people,” says Peresedov. “By the way, references to Hollywood don’t work either - in the 30s, of course, there was “glamor” there, but not at all as exemplary as in later years.”
